Stick to xee2 if you still have it….

Awfully slow in browsing images. Stick to Xee2 if you can get your hands on it. I hope this will get faster!

Bug

Always handup the system when opening a zip file, force to reboot the computer every time

I really liked this app but it seems that the full screen mode is no longer usable (on Mavericks). When a picture has portrait orientation then the next one is also displayed as “portrait” even though it’s landscape oriented. Subsequent photos are trimmed to the size of the portrait picture with black bars on each side of the screen.

Negative

VERY slow. Interface is not-friendly (especially when You want to print)

Sometimes this app just starts minimized and refuses to open. I see that app opens but cant bring it to front. It just stays minimized no matter what. To be perfectly precise, I must say, that this it *sometimes* opens OK, but it happens rarely. Also I dislike this noise effect when browsing photos. It annoys the heck of me. I might be watching my family photos in the dark room, but this noise transition effect is bright and distracting. Overall, I give 2 stars, because the app being minimized no-matter-what bug crosses out all positive sides (speed, for example).

Worthy replacement Xee 2. Surprised only one - function "When switching images" in Preferences. Need to add options "Keep images fit to screen". Sorry for my English… А пока что буду пользоваться Xee 2, покуда он будет работать.

v2 was much better I have bought in Apple store new v3.3 and got headache: 1. How to grant a Mac app permission to read the whole filesystem? 2. Slow operation with some files (v2.2 is faster)

Best image viewing app for Mac. Was looking for something similar to ACDSee (win) and this great app perfectly fits. The only thing I personally miss is “Open Recent…” feature. That was a bad decision to throw it away, any basic implementation would work here, I really miss it, that’s why I rated 4 stars, If you’ll add this feature, you’ll get 5 from me. Anyway, thanks for the app, I use it everyday and recommend it to everybody.

Version 3.0.5 meets Apples highly annoying requirement that Xee³ ask permission )at first access) to display photos from every single directory it encounters. If you display photos from only one or two directories, it isnt a big problem. If you want to display photos from hundreds or thousands of directories, you will have to grant permission to Xee³ to access those directories hundreds or thousands of times. Dag Agren had to put that permission routine in the program so that Xee³ would meet Apple Stores requirements. There is no way to download an Apple Store version 3.0.5 and upgrade it to the 3.0.6 version sold elsewhere for the same price which doesnt have the annoying, repetitive permission feature. So do yourself a favor, forget you saw the annoying version 3.0.5 here and search Xee online to get the later, superior 3.0.6 version of this exceptionally fine program elsewhere.

Needed an app to allow me to sort, move, copy, delete large amounts of photos quickly and simply. This app does just that. Had been using iFranview on my PC for this funcion for years but since switching to MAC hadnt found an app that was a simple to use for these functions until now. Great app.

Ive been waiting for Xee to arrive on the App Store; Im glad its finally here! Apples built-in Preview application is full of frustrations, and Xee handily fixes all of them.

Amazed this is finally in the App Store! My no. 1 reason for Xee is browsing by keyboard! It boggles my mind why Preview.app does not support this. v2.2 is still my default, since I miss the toolbar at the top and a few other nitpicks. The old one is faster too (though the new one has far better image quality). The ability to export JPEGs from PDF! Super! Looking forward to future updates!

Xee is my go-to replacement for OSX’s built-in Preview app. Version 2 was very quick and allows you to easily browse across dozens or hundereds of images in a folder, while effortlessly toggling between windowed and full screen views. Xee3 seems at first to be a nice refresh of the app, but the performance is unusable. Trying to view RAW .CR2 files from a Canon 5DMII (about 25MB each) takes Xee v2 about two seconds to load per image. Xee v3 takes a full FOURTEEN SECONDS to load the same image! This is on a brand new 15” RMBP w/SSD and 16GB of RAM, so hardware is certainly not the problem. Even worse, the image takes just as long to reload every time, even if you’ve just viewed it seconds before, highlighting the fact that the app is simply inefficient and is not taking advantage of caching or leveraging my machine’s discreet graphics acceleration. If the developer can restore performance back to version 2 standards I’ll give this app 4 stars. Right now it’s unusable so it gets a single star for lack of a zero star option.

OK

Could be a bit more user friendly but I think I was expecting the simpler older version.

love this app. the smoothing of the pixles (scaleing quality) is really nice and smooth GPU acceleration zooming and scrolling. only downfall is last update made loading small size jpegs and even large size jpegs and raw RW2 files very long compared to last update

It’s not running on Trial. Neither after I purchase.

How can I get refund? I’m on Marvriks.

I have been using the freeware version of Xee every day, many times a day, for years. Fast, versatile, reliable, smart and succinct in design. It’s such a basic part of my workflow that I was excited just to discover there is a (very reasonably-, even under-priced) paid app.

This is a great little app. Used it for years. Lets you quickly browse images in a folder, unlike preview in which you have to add each image to the app for it to view. For people coming from PC to Max Xee replaces many common viewers on windows such as ACDC. Happy to spend 3.99 on Xee.
